Melton Olympic Cycling Club rider Bex Rimmington and Lora Turnham were back in action in the UK this weekend.
At the National Disability Criterium Series in Lancashire, each disability category started off at varying intervals based on the UCI system, while the other categories set off in front of the female tandem by 30 seconds.

Waterfield Supports GB Athlete
Bex Rimmington has been selected by the British Cycling Paralympic Academy program as a cyclist to represent GB. Waterfield Leisure Pools are sponsoring Bex Rimmington with free membership to help her train towards cycle races she will enter across the world. She also will be training full time with the Great Britain Cycling Team starting this year in Manchester.
In 2010 Bex will be competing at the road World Cups in Segovia and Canada as well as the World Road Race Championships in Canada....

| Melton Olympic Cycling Club rider Bex Rimmington and Lora Turnham competed in the VTTA Tandem event on the A1 on Saturday.
The pairing clocked an impressive time of 57min 52secs over the 25-mile course in their first attempt over the distance.
The time placed them second overall behind mixed tandem pairing Ruth Crossley and Andy Fisher.
Bex and Lora are currently leading the world rankings following their performances abroad and are now building up to the first Para-cycling World Cup in Segovia, in Spain, at the beginni... |

I did enter the next day's event,which was to be a sporting 23. An accident meant a change of course AND MORE MILES! but not really really hilly just lumpy and fun. Some said it was a 25, some said it was a 26. Really strong winds but wonderful sunshine and I thought the morning was great (especially the tail wind finish), nice friendly atmosphere in the recently reburbished HQ at Weston with some awesome hand-dryers in the toilets!
It was a repeat of the results with Scott winning with a time of 57.18, Tony Taylor first on standard, Sue first lady. ... |

Wins for GB in Spanish ParaCycling Races

Melton cyclist Bex Rimmington was competing for the Great Britain cycling team at the UCI Para-cycling cup in Bayonne, France with tandem partner Lora Turnham. The first stage was a 65km road race around the village of Urt taking in a challenging climb over the six-lap race. Bex warms up for global test with fine win
Melton Olympic Cycling Club's Bex Rimmington warmed up for international duty with a great result at the Rudy Project National Time Trial Series.
Bex and tandem partner Lora Turnham took a fine win at the latest round in Cumbria near the picturesque Bassenthwaite Water. They completed the undulating 15.3 mile circuit in a time of 37min 54secs to win overall on real time by more than a minute, as well as on adjusted time.
