Melton's Bex Rimmington has been rewarded for her superb performances this season with a place on the newly formed Great Britain Paralympic Academy programme.
Bex, who rides for Melton Olympic, has enjoyed great success on the road and track, winning a bronze at this years World para-cycling road race championships.

Melton Olympics Bex Rimmington and Lora Turnham represented Great Britain at the World Para-cycling Championships in Manchester over the weekend. To start their campaign the tandem pair competed as a last minute entry in the 1-kilometer time trial, they posted another fantastic time of 1.12.875 taking half second off what they posted 2-weeks ago. Melton Olympic's Bex Rimmington and Lora Turnham made their track debut at the British Track Championships at the weekend. Competing in the Invitational Tandem Kilo, the girls surprised everyone by posting a time of 1.13.189, a time that would place them in the top 10 in the world.

Melton Olympics Bex Rimmington has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Para-cycling Track Championships to be held in Manchester on 6th-8th November.
Piloting visually impaired rider Lora Turnham on the tandem, the pair will be hoping to build upon their recent success at the World road championships in Italy, competing on the final day of the championships in the 3km pursuit.

Great Britain clinched seven medals, including three golds, at the Para-Cycling World Road Championships in Italy.
Paralympic champion Sarah Storey won both the time trial and road race in her LC1 category.
"I was second in 2006 and missed the 2007 event with a broken collarbone so this is great to win," she said.
Darren Kenny edged out great rival Javier Ochoa from Spain by two seconds to win the CP3 road race.

Melton Olympics Bex Rimmington competed in the Rudy Project National Time Trial series with tandem partner Lora Turnham, near Worcester at the weekend. Competing over a 16.4mile undulating course the pair posted a time of 42.08, to place second only 20-seconds behind double paralympic gold medallist Simon Richardson.

Melton Olympics Bex Rimmington has been selected for the 2009 World Para-cycling Championships in Bogogno, Italy in September. The pairing of Rimmington and Lora Turnham impressed the GB selection panel with their results from the recent Europa Cup, to be selected for both the road race and the time trial.

Bex Rimmington was representing Great Britain at the Para-cycling Europa Cup in Piacenza, Italy at the weekend. Riding with visually impaired stoker Lora Turnham on the tandem the pairing started Saturday with the 72km criterium around the town centre. In 38 degree heat, it was the pairings first international outing against most riders who were in Beijing.
